The others

Initial drawing of how bunny star star may look like. Think along the lines of a classy Holly Golightly

I've come up with three other bunny characters; baby bunny still in diapers and pacifier, bunny buttercup the buttercup munching bunny and bunny binky who loves doing the binky. I'm working harder on this!

the beginning...

13unnies (pronounced as thirteen bunnies) is something I thought of while lying in bed reading one late night. I figure it would be a good concept to begin with for what I hope will be more than a paper idea.

Why 13?
13 is considered an unlucky number to many, for reasons I believe are archaic and mythical. 13 happens to be my anniversary date of courtship with Boon. On the night of our two-year anniversary, I was reading a book and staring at the red card that Boon drew for me. On the card was a group of bunnies of various sizes and Boon had drawn 13 of them without realising it. Subconcious coincidence perhaps. Before that, I already had a sketchy idea about using bunnies for a book theme and a possible merchandise line. But first, I needed a label name that is unique and catchy to draw attention. Initially I wanted to use bunny bean bean, the first bunny character I created as the label name. It was a mouthful but I kept that in mind in case I couldn't think of any other better names. And while staring hard at the card, the number 13 and bunnies merged into an idea I thought was ingenious of me. Why, 13 looks like the capital letter B and it is less mouthful than bunny bean bean. And with a smug smile, the lazy hamster awakes and begins a jog in the rusty cogs of my mind.

Why bunnies?
It could have been any other animal really but I was bowled over by this gentle rodent fur ball in my imaginations for the ultimate embodiment of all things adorable. How would you describe a girl that you fancy or perhaps your beautiful daughter? As cute as a bunny, of course! Yes, there are other terms of endearment like playful as a kitten or huggable like a teddy but they hold no appeal to me. And bunny so it was.

Who are the characters?
There will be 12 bunnies and a kitten who pretends to be a bunny. All characters will be female. I have created 8 characters so far. More elaboration to come. bunny bean bean, bunny tum tums, bunny frecklies, bunny loolian, bunny star star, bunny mean mean, bunny dadu and bunny poo poot.
